Research concerning the safety level of amalgam fillings has been discussed at length in the media. The results are still contradictionary, so that every dentist and every patient has to make his own decision.

We follow the suggestions of the german dentists association and do not use amalgam for new fillings since many years, but we do not recommend the replacement of old, intact amalgam fillings in general.

Some scientific researches indicate, that in single cases, mercury from amalgam-fillings can cause neurological diseases and infertility. If you are affected by such problems and your physician cannot find a reason, please ask him, if he would recommend an amalgam-replacement.
